Micah McCloskey
First Photo: Carmela, Gary, Micah, and Mary 2003. Gary & Micah--1975
I first met Micah in 1969 when I did a repair job on his Indian Chief (I think he still has the Indian.) At the end, Micah gave me a $5.00 tip. Later on, Micah worked for Samuel Pierce, of Indian fame, as a mechanic. Micah also worked for Sporter Motors and Joe Scarber. Micah purchased my old retail store in the early 1970's and became a "go-to guy" for motor rebuilds and custom repair. Micah also has been featured in movies and was a crew member of the the Famous Easy Rider Stream Liner. Micah was also responsible for my induction into the Sturgis Hall of Fame in 2003. What a honor it has been for me to have a friend like Micah! Thanks for the $5.00, Bro!

Pete Dupey
Photo Shows Pete & Gary in Reseda, CA 1965. Pete talked Andy into hiring me at Kolbe Cycle. Pete was a very famous half-mile and TT racer. He won numerous events in the 1950's & 1960's. Pete was the general manager of Kolbe Cycle in Reseda for many years and ran it as a profit center for Andy. Also, Pete was responsible for Kolbe Cycle becoming one of the first Honda car dealers in the San Fernando Valley. Thanks Pete!

Andy Kolbe of Kolbe Cycle Fame
Andy gave me my first job in the Motorcycle business. He paid me $2.00 per hour and 2% gross of parts sales and 2% on my motorcycle sales. Our biggest seller were Trail 90's. My commission was around $8.00. I liked to call Kolbe Cycle a Breeding Ground for Champions. Andy and Dave Ekins opened their first shop in 1959. Thanks for the Job, Andy! R.I.P.
